Q: Is cannabis legal in Maine?
A: Yes, for medical marijuana use (when you have a Maine medical marijuana card). And, recreational marijuana is legal in Maine, with the following restrictions: you have to be 21+ to possess marijuana, you’re limited to 2.5 ounces (the maximum allowed). It’s illegal to drive while under the influence of marijuana and you can’t use marijuana in public. You’re not legally allowed to buy marijuana, but you can grow six mature plants, 12 immature plants, and unlimited seedlings at a time. (Visit this page for more information on Maine recreational marijuana laws.)
Q: What exactly are the Maine medical marijuana laws?
A: Maine laws are ever-changing, expanding, and broadening when it comes to access for patients and recreational use. We work hard to help you stay on top of the State’s laws on our News page, but to make sure you’re viewing all the laws and the latest changes, we recommend visiting the Maine.gov website focused on marijuana laws. If you search on that website, you’ll find various laws and guidelines.
Q: How do I get a Maine medical marijuana card?
A: There are a number of resources to find the right steps for getting your card. This Portland Press Herald article is helpful. And, this Marijuana Doctors website features a section on getting your Maine card. We’re happy to help you if you’d rather discuss your needs with a knowledgeable caregiver who can guide you.
Q: Do I have to go to a Maine medical marijuana dispensary?
A: Not at all! If you’re a patient with a Maine medical marijuana card, you can buy from a state-licensed dispensary OR a licensed/registered Maine caregiver (sometimes also known as patient care center, patient access center, and other similar term).
Q: How do I find a licensed Maine caregiver?
A: You’re free to search online, ask around, or ask your doctor. But frankly, why do all that work when you can start with us? At Kind Acres Farm, we were one of the State’s first licensed caregivers back in 2012. We’ve been here all along, growing and cultivating high-quality products for local patients. Currently we have more than 48 “different strains for different pains” — one of the largest selections in the state.
Q: How do I choose the right products?
A: We can help, especially if you’re a patient struggling with anxiety, chronic pain, or PTSD. That’s our specialty. Depending on the effect you’re looking for, let us help you choose Indica, Sativa, or Hybrids with different levels of THC and CBD, in flower and extract forms. Visit our Product Page to see our current products. (We’re also on Weedmaps.)
Q: I want to make sure I’m buying quality cannabis products. How can you ensure quality and safety?
A: We understand that testing and trust are HUGE. That’s why all our products are tested every 3 months, for potency, quality, and purity. With us, there’s no guessing, no mold, chemicals, or other risky stuff. (Many suppliers don’t test their products, which means you don’t know what they’re giving you.) We’re proud of our premium product. Request our cannabinoid profiles by contacting us.
Q: What can I save by getting my Maine medical marijuana at Kind Acres Farm?
A: Since we’re a small farm with low overhead costs, we can save you on every order…. sometimes as much as 50% lower than Maine medical marijuana dispensaries.
In addition to big savings every day (compared to Maine medical marijuana dispensaries)…
- SAVE 20% off your first purchase (new customers only)
